Connecting with your Helpr sitter before care
We know that this first conversation helps set the tone for care. Your sitter will reach out within 24 hours of accepting your request (or sooner if care is coming up quickly).
To contact your sitter directly, open your ‘bookings’ in the Helpr app and tap their name to view their phone number.
This first conversation typically takes about 10–15 minutes. If you need more time, you can also ask your sitter if they can start a bit early.
Topics families often cover:
- What helps your child feel most at ease with someone new?
- What calming strategies work best if your child becomes upset?
- What do mealtimes look like in your home? Are there allergies or household food rules your sitter should know about?
- If it’s a longer booking, when would you prefer your sitter to take a meal break?
